For some it was an eye-opener, for others just another job, and for the believers among them, an awesome responsibility.

    Frank was the first actor to play Jesus on the modern stage in Dennis Potter's play Son of Man in 1969. The documentary also features David Essex who played Jesus in the original London production of Godspell (1971).

    Frank and David would work together in the musical Mutiny! (1985). However, this wasn't the first time they had appeared together, David had one of his first screen acting roles in Assault (1971).
